Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme created by The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s topic is a Cover Theme Freebie, so I chose to do the top ten books I bought because I fell in love with the cover, so here they are in no particular order.
- The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender
This book was a definite cover buy that was also helped along by the fact that a close friend of mine had recommended it to me. I still haven’t read it yet, which I definitely need to rectify that. But I just adore the cover; the gold feather is just breathtaking.
- The Loneliness of Distant Beings
This cover is beautiful; it’s just full of stars and space. It takes my breath away and draws you in. I heard about this from attending a gathering at Boffins books, and just thought it sounded great and the cover is just beautiful. This is on my TBR, I have been slowly working my way through the books that I have on my shelf that I haven’t read yet.
- A Thousand Pieces Of You
This series has just such simplistically beautiful covers that draw you in. This was another book recommended to me by my close friend, another book that is on this list that I haven’t read yet. But I definitely will soon. But when I saw the cover, before I read the blurb the colours in the cover are just beautiful.
- The Unexpected Everything
The cover for this is so vibrant and colourful and just screams summer fun. I couldn’t help but pick it up especially because I was hearing a lot of good reviews about it. If you want you can read my review for it here.
I saw this book in the shops and I just had to pick it up, the cover is super cute and fun even though it’s super simple, and then when I read the blurb I was completely sold. I fell in love with it. Read my review for it here.
- The Summoning
This book and I have an interesting backstory, because originally it wasn’t its cover that drew me to the book. But its spine. It was in my High School library, I remember walking past the shelf, and seeing the spine, and the beautiful red font, and being drawn to see what the book was. I picked it up and the cover was beautiful and incredibly simple and had me intrigued. I read the whole series in high school and a couple years after I graduated, I bought the series to relive the story.
I have heard so many great things about the Lunar Chronicles series, so many people on Instagram rave about it, as well as my friends. So I had to get it, the covers are all beautiful, and so simple and highlight the fairy tale character that is the focus on the story.
- The Night Circus
I bought this book earlier this year, I read a review of it online and the premise of the book caught my attention. The cover is just beautiful, it is very simple; I love covers that are simple in their beauty.
I discovered this series in High School, I was in the library and saw the second book in the series Fire, and I adored the cover and wanted to read it immediately. I wanted to check it out but realised it was the second book, and someone had taken the first book without checking it out. So a few years later, I bought Graceling and loved this cover just as much as Fire. This is another book that is still sitting on my TBR list. But I will get through it.
- The Graveyard Book
This was the first Neil Gaiman book I ever bought/ read, I was drawn to it because Chris Riddell’s cover was just so beautiful and drew me in and the blurb just sold the book straight away. I have reread this book a lot, and I love it every time. Whenever Neil and Chris work together, I will always buy that edition of the cover because I just love Chris’s illustration style.
Let me know in the comments what books you bought due to cover love.
