February Wrap Up & March TBR

March 3, 2018Leave a comment on February Wrap Up & March TBR

So I know I sort of disappeared towards the end of last year, a lot went down in my personal life, and I just had no time for blogging or bookstagram. My 2.5 year relationship ended, I had to move all my stuff back home, I had to deal with the breakup, I also got a proper adult full-time job, so that had a lot of adjustments of its own. So yeah things have been insanely hectic since October 2017. However, I think things are finally evening out and I now can start dedicating pockets of time to my book hobbies, which makes me really happy.

I can’t promise I will be completely consistent, but I am going to try to make sure at least one post a week goes up, but I won’t let myself feel bad if something comes up stopping that from happening.

So without further ado my first wrap up for 2018!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme created by The Broke and The Bookish.

This week’s theme is top ten books I hope Santa brings me, majority of these books are on my actual Christmas list.

Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur, lying on a table with a vanilla candle and a tube of honey

4 stars.

 “accept yourself
as you were designed”
“we are all born
so beautiful
the greatest tragedy is
being convinced we are not”

Going into this book, I knew very little, only what was in the Goodreads blurb (featured below), and that people on bookstagram had been mentioning it in many posts. It was somewhat of a shock to realise just how intimate some of the poems in milk and honey were.

“milk and honey is a collection of poetry and prose about survival. It is about the experience of violence, abuse, love, loss, and femininity. It is split into four chapters, and each chapter serves a different purpose, deals with a different pain, and heals a different heartache. milk and honey takes readers through a journey of the most bitter moments in life and finds sweetness in them because there is sweetness everywhere if you are just willing to look” Summary from Goodreads.
